Clarence Thomas is a tool
In his dissent to today's Hamdan decision -- the one that says the Bush administration can't summarily decide to use military tribunals to try terrorist suspects -- Thomas writes of Justice John Paul Stevens "unfamiliarity with the realities of warfare" as the reason Stevens disagrees with the administration's position. Here are the .pdf versions of the official biographies for Thomas and Stevens:
Notice what Stevens has that Thomas does not? Correct -- wartime military experience. Stevens served in the Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1945. Thomas had deferments that kept him out of Vietnam.
As always, Republicans like Thomas refuse to let the facts stand in the way of their beliefs. As always, Thomas is a tool.
